About Children's Choice

Children's Choice
Children's Choice broadcasts live from Harlyn Ward in the Royal Cornwall Hospital between 3:30pm and 4:30pm on Wednesday Afternoon's.

This show is specifically targeted at our younger listeners and includes a lively mix of their requests, stories, poems, jokes, games and competitions. Most importantly the show allows the patients themselves to take part in the programme by helping to read the stories and poems with the presenting team and generally be involved in the broadcasting

Those patients who are able can visit the "Quiet Room" in the ward where the show is broadcast from, and for those who are unable to get to the room, every effort will still be made to include them in the broadcasting.

Regular Link-Up's take place with the Royal Cornwall Hospital's other Children's Units - Fistral and Sennen and patients on those wards can take part in the show on the telephone.

Children's Choice was awarded Bronze in the category of 'Best Children's Programme' at the 2005 National Hospital Radio Awards, making it one of the top 3 Children's Shows on Hospital Radio in the UK. This follows on from our success in the 2004 Awards where the show won a commendation.
